Vertigo Color studies

Studies of scenes from one of my most favorite movie, Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. The man is a known genius, but now, after studying his movie more in depth(I am still far from being an expert in movies, just as a caveat), I really have learned to appreciate the depth and care he took in visually designing his movies. Vertigo, staring James Stewart and Kim Novak, is one of his true masterpieces, in my opinion. This thread will take a stab at taking some key shots from the movie, and just by repainting, with slight reinterpretations for sake of efficiency, I am attempting to learn, as much as inform.

Scene right after the fall and death of police officer. Yellow color seems to indicate a place of solace or trust, for the main character John, who just had a traumatic experience. Notice spots of red. As if John is carrying the guilt where ever he goes

John's school mate calls him to follow his wife as a private investigator. Notice the red floor. I think this scene is Foreshadowing.

Here is John tailing the wife, Madeline. She is the only one in green. Green seems to indicate the object of desire.

Next day, John follows Madeline around San Francisco. Where ever she goes, she is surrounded by color Green. More studies to come...
